I also started my garden last week. Lettuce and spinach planted. This weekend we're going to make an anti-hail system. Will post it up once it's done!

Article & gardening
Well, my article was in the Coloradoan this past Sunday. I'm still surprised I'm the first one that they used (it's an 8 week special).

Photo shoot!
Hi everyone! I had my photos taken today for the Coloradoan. The day was spent doing insane amounts of housecleaning, when really, only three parts of my house was seen and he was here for 20-30 minutes. At least I have a clean house now.
And OF COURSE I had to mess up on the bread. Would it happen any other way? I forgot to put something in it (I don't know what) because I was busy multitasking and it took forever to rise. At about 45 minutes before he got here, I knew it was flat out impossible that it'd be done in time. I pushed those to the side and quickly whipped up some whole wheat buns. Thankfully, they take absolutely no time at all. He got here when they were most of the way done, we talked, he took some pictures, and then he left.
Don't know yet when the article will be in the paper, I'll keep you posted :-)

Great news!
My husband showed me an ad in the Coloradoan asking people to email about changes they are making due to the current economic situation. I thought, "well, what the hell," and sent in an email (my main purpose was to talk about the Coop). Guess what? I had an interview today! Photographers will be sent to the house next week to take pictures of me making bread. Hopefully it'll be some good publicity and we'll get more people involved!

Sorry for being inactive
Hello everyone!
Sorry for being so inactive, but it's coming on the end of the semester and I've been a bit busy.
Anyway, I'm here to brag about some yummy homemade food :-)
First, my hubby's pizza. He is the pizza crust master. Anytime I've made it, it's only been substandard. My mother in-law gave me a pizza stone for my birthday and this is the first time we've used it. Chicken, olives, and spinach.
My husband brought this article to my attention which is concerning the inhumane treatment of laying hens. It's just disgusting what these factories have been getting away with. This is why I say, barter/buy local because you never know what surprises you are going to be getting in mass produced food.

Getting ready!
Hello everyone! I've been raking up the old leaves I piled on the garden last fall, and what beautiful mulch it was! Wish I got a picture of it. Most of it got thrown into the flower garden and my Irises perked up.
I did take a few pictures though!
I stuck a shovel in the ground and found four worms. Apparently, my street used to be a nursery before it was sold to a land developer. Anywhere you dig, at least one worm will come up.
Here's the garden, waiting to get some seeds in it. My mother in-law told me to get the lettuce and spinach going, but I think I'm going to wait another week since the weather has been so crazy.
My daughter likes to look for worms too.
My chives are coming up beautifully
And my cats wish they were outside. Oh well.
